Recruitment of Technician Grade-I Signal and various categories of Technician Grade-III

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts mentioned in the table below. Applications complete in all respects must be submitted ONLINE ONLY latest by 23:59 hours of 08.04.2024.

1. Technician Grade-I Signal
Pay Level in 7th CPC: Level-5
Initial pay (Rs.): 29200
Medical Standard: B-1
Age (as on 01.07.2024): 18-36 years
Total Vacancies (All RRBs): 1092
2. Technician Grade-III
Pay Level in 7th CPC: Level-2
Initial pay (Rs.): 19900
Medical Standard: See Annexure-A
Age (as on 01.07.2024): 18-33 years
Total Vacancies (All RRBs): 8052
Grand Total Vacancies: 9144

Age Limit:
Prescribed age in normal course (as on 01.07.2024):
Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years
Age applicable to this CEN (as on 01.07.2024):
Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 36 years
Technician Grade-III: 18 to 33 years
Note: To provide relief to many candidates who may have exceeded the age limit and missed the opportunity to participate in railway recruitment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided to grant a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit for the posts of Technicians.
Age Relaxation in upper age limit / maximum upper age for the following categories / communities:
For Technician Grade I Signal (Pay Level 5 under 7th CPC) (Relaxed Age Group: 18-36 years)
1. SC & ST candidates: 5 Years
2. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 Years
3. Ex-servicemen with at least six months continuous service after attestation:
Ex-servicemen (UR & EWS): 3 years (after deduction of length of service from age)
Ex-servicemen (OBC-NCL): 6 years (after deduction of length of service from age)
Ex-servicemen (SC & ST): 8 years (after deduction of length of service from age)
4. Persons With Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):
PwBD - UR & EWS: 10 Years
PwBD - OBC (NCL): 13 Years
PwBD - SC & ST: 15 Years
5. Candidates who are serving Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff with minimum 3 years' service as well as Substitutes with minimum 3 years' service in continuous or in broken spells, in Railways:
UR & EWS: 40 Years of age
OBC (NCL): 43 Years of age
SC & ST: 45 Years of age
6. Candidates who are working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes: Up to the length of service rendered OR 5 years, whichever is less.
Examination Fee:
Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee as per their community/category detailed below:

1. For all candidates (except categories mentioned below at Sl. No. 2): Out of this fee of Rs 500/-, an amount of Rs 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in CBT.
2. For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC): Rs 250/- (Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS) This fee of Rs. 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in CBT.
NOTE:
1) The applicable Examination Fee is also required to be paid separately for each Pay Level.
2) Only candidates who attend CBT will get refund of their examination fee as mentioned above.
