Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Polls Announced: Dates Confirmed



The Election Commission has officially announced the dates for the much-anticipated Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. The polls will be conducted in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1. The counting of votes is scheduled for October 4, marking a critical moment in J&K's political landscape.

Omar Abdullah of the National Conference welcomed the announcement, stating, "Der aaye durust aaye." He highlighted that this is the first time since 1987-1988 that elections in J&K are being held in such a small number of phases, reflecting the importance of the upcoming polls. Abdullah affirmed that the National Conference is ready and will soon kick off its election campaign.
