Recruitment Advertisement for Subordinate Judiciary Posts: Civil Judge (Junior Division)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or residents of the Union Territory of Ladakh for the recruitment of posts in the Subordinate Judiciary. The recruitment is conducted in accordance with the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service (Judicial) Recruitment Rules, 1967, as amended, and the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022.
Important Information for Applicants:
One-Time Registration Update: Candidates are advised to ensure the accuracy of their One-Time Registration details before proceeding with the application.
Availability of Application Form: The application form, along with comprehensive instructions, will be accessible on the Commission's website from August 27, 2023.
Eligibility and Submission: Applicants must carefully review the eligibility conditions and guidelines before submitting the online application. The last date for submission, along with the requisite fee (online mode only), is September 17, 2023.
Cut-Off Date for Eligibility: The deadline for receiving online applications will determine the eligibility criteria for educational, professional qualifications, and mandatory certificates.
Age Criteria: Age calculations will be based on January 1, 2023.
Application Form Editing: Candidates can edit specific fields in the online application form from September 18, 2023, to September 20, 2023 (until 11:59 PM), as per provided instructions.
Document Upload: Mandatory prescribed documents must be uploaded with the online application. Non-compliance may result in application rejection.
No Hard Copy Submission: Hard copies of the application form and documents are not required during the online submission.
Interview Stage: Candidates must present a downloaded copy of the application form along with original certificates during the interview.
Early Submission Recommended: To avoid issues due to high traffic during closing days, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance.

Preliminary Examination: October 8, 2023
Competitive (Mains) Examination: November 8, 2023, to November 19, 2023
Prescribed Qualification:
i. A Bachelor's Degree in Law from a University established, or
ii. A Barrister of England or Northern Ireland or a member of the faculty of Advocates
in Scotland or any other equivalent law degree recognized by the Government of
India.
Age as on 1st January 2023:
Minimum = 18 years
Maximum = 35 years
Reservation:
i. A candidate seeking consideration under any Reserved Category must ensure that he/she possesses a valid requisite Category certificate as of the cut-off date.
ii. The candidature of the candidates will be provisional until the genuineness of the reserved category certificate is verified by the Appointing Authority.
iii. Candidates should note that if a claim for reservation is made based on a false/fake/fraudulent certificate, he/she shall be debarred from the examination(s) conducted by the J&K Public Service Commission, in addition to any other penal action as deemed appropriate.

resident of UT of Ladakh. The candidate must possess a valid Certificate to the effect issued
by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format as on the last date prescribed for
submission of online application form.
7. Requisite Fee
After successful submission of the online application form, candidate will be required to
deposit requisite fee through online mode. The amount of fee to be paid is given below:
General Category = Rs.1000.00
Reserved Category = Rs 500.00
PHC Candidates = Nil.
