Located in Jammu District
It is about 28 Km from Jammu
It derives its name from Nandini village
Nandini Village Tehsil Jammu
Area of Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is about 34 sq km
It best known for wonderful species of pheasants
-Indian mynah, blue rock pigeon,
peafowl, red jungle fowl, chir pheasants, chakor
The main species-leopard, wild boar,
rhesus monkey, bharal, grey langur
It was established in 1990
This wildlife sanctuary was attempted at preserving
-the thick forest cover of Jammu
Protecting these rich and valuable boons of nature is very critical to ensure that the rare species of mammals and birds do not face the threat of extinction due to any careless human attitude. There are about eight species of mammals in this area. The chief species are wild boar, deer, leopard, rhesus monkey, gray languor, Goral, etc. The birds that are often sighted here are chakor, chir pheasants, peafowl, blue rock pigeon, red jungle fowl, Indian mynah, etc.
